VIP Partnership Overview
We created the Featured Partner Program to work with world-class products and service providers to provide seamless integration with our WordPress.com VIP platform. Each one of our partners is carefully chosen and brings a unique set of skills and expertise to the platform.
Our Service Partners are a group of VIP-approved WordPress development and interactive agencies that we have partnered with to help our clients build best of breed WordPress sites. We work closely with our Service Partners to keep them up to date on best practices, security standards, performance optimizations, and any other platform-specific needs for WordPress.com VIP, so our mutual clients can rest assured that they’re in good hands when launching or re-launching sites on our platform.

Data migration is not an easy task, but with our Service Partners, you can rest assured that they have you covered. Our partners have worked with many VIPs over the years to make sure all content, assets, links, and references are transferred accordingly.

The Featured Technology Partner Program for WordPress.com VIP provides a platform for 3rd parties to provide VIP approved integrations to our roster of amazing clients. We work with key partners in various categories to bring a set of products and features to our VIPs and are always looking for new partners to expand that offering.
What we look for
- Product Fit: our focus is bringing the best of breed products and tools to our clients.
- Technology Fit: we value working with partners who have a good understanding of the WordPress.com platform and have a clear vision for what an integration would look like.
- Cultural Fit: we do things a little differently at Automattic (for the better we think) and we look for partners who have the same attitude towards some core principals — open source, collaboration, and quality.
How the program works
Typically partners submit a WordPress.com VIP ready plugin to be reviewed by our team (some integrations may be API-based, instead) for feedback on performance, security, forward-compatibility, etc. Partners pay a one-time set up fee for reviewing the plugin and a quarterly fee to participate in the program.
The approved integration will live in the VIP Dashboard for easy activation, offering a simple way for non-technical users to activate 3rd-party features and services without having to rely on their (usually overworked!) colleagues in engineering. The specifics of the plugin/integration vary by partner — and that’s something our support engineers will guide your team on as well.
Partners who join the program benefit organically from being featured in the program, and we also help provide pro-active outreach through our newsletters, blogs, and webinar events to help spread the word about our partners. We’re also excited to collaborate on more customized co-marketing efforts as well.
Maintenance & Support
Once the integration is live on the WordPress.com VIP platform, our team of world-class developers will provide first-line support for VIP users of the integration — that way if a mutual customer hits a critical issue in the middle of the night, we can help make sure it’s fixed ASAP and there’s no impact to their service. We’ll also work hand-in-hand with partners to fix any issues that may arise.
